    How To Setup MonsterInsights Properly?

    Before you install MonsterInsights, you need to have a Google Analytics account set up. Click here if you don’t have one.

    Once that is done, download, install and activate the MonsterInsights plugin.

    Authenticate MonsterInsights With Google Analytics

    Click on Authenticate with your Google account to get started.

    In the popup that appears, click Next » Click To Get Google Code.

    Next, log in to your Google Account and click on the Allow button to grant MonsterInsights access to your website analytics data.

    Lastly, you need to select an analytics profile from the dropdown, and then click Next.

    Important note: There are a few advanced MonsterInsights features worth considering (turning on or off).

    • Track outbound click and downloads: This will keep track of all clicks and downloads as Events in your Google Analytics account.
    • Allow tracking of anonymous data: This will send information anonymously to the developer on how you use MonsterInsights, allowing them to know what configurations, themes, and plugins to test.
    • Anonymize IPs: This will help to anonymize the IP addresses of visitors.
    • Ignore users: You can set your analytics to not tracks the actions of the Administrator, Editor, and other user roles.
    • Disable analytics dashboard: This disables the dashboard and stops all data collection as long as it’s checked off.

    Once you are comfortable with all the features and options, click the Save Changes button at the bottom.

    Personally, this could be a huge turn down, especially for small business owners and entrepreneurs who are constantly working with a shoestring budget.

    For me, the price tag is a huge contributing factor due to the conversion rate. As a Malaysian, using LeadPages would cost me USD$37 per month. In other words, it costs around RM 151.70 with a 4.1 conversion rate (which is extremely hefty for me).

    Of course, this leads me to find the best LeadPages competitor and after researching for several months, I finally came in terms with the top 5 alternatives to LeadPages.

    IFTTT is the short form for IF This, Then That. Basically it allows you to create automated tasks to speed up your productivity level. One of my favorite (and most used) productivity hacks using IFTTT is when I tag ‘tasks’ to a post to Pocket app, it will automatically trigger and action which will add the the title and details of the post to my Evernote notebook entitled, Follow Up Tasks. Instead of manually saving the information on Evernote, IFTTT does it for me and it save up a lot of my time. At the moment, there are over 50 different actions and triggers to customize your automation.
